This dataset is provided by the Gerontology Research Group, a group of researchers that verifies and tracks supercentenarians, or people who are at least 110 years old. This group maintains a list of the verified oldest people in the world. Plotting each person who claimed the title of World's Oldest Person reveals a few interesting facts about the data:

• Jeanne Calment (France) held the title for almost 10 years, but this record has been challenged after claims that her daughter assumed her identity in 1934.
• Emma Tillman (US) held the title for just 4 days.
• Females greatly outnumber males.
